We live in a society that draws heavily, and this influences teens. Most Americans use alcohol to celebrate wedding anniversaries, to welcome the mod Year, and to enjoy many other special events. Alcohol is a legal medicine for people over the age of twenty-one. By the time most teens stretchiness senior high school, nearly all will have faced a choice about whether or no to take a drink. Although this drug is illegal for teenage use a large percentage of teens use alcohol. Many teens die in automobile accidents, which could have prevented if they had chosen to say no. Each year it is blame in the deaths of more than four thousand teens (Claypool, p. 42). No crime kills more teenagers in America. Kids who are drunkenness regularly in high school seem to be fully aware of the penalties and laws against underage drinking, possession but dont care. They agree that driving while intoxicated is a observe role in fatal car accidents, yet they still do it. A big reason for teens to start to drink is because of problems in their family life. Teens could have a bad relationship with their parents or their parents could get in a fight or even get a divorce and this could cause a drinking problem among their child. Many experts agree that the main reason teens are becoming alcoholics is low self-esteem. Sometimes these children have been neglected or abused which makes them feel unwished or they have been pressured and feel worthless if they fail. Gender RolesWhile I was growing up, sexuality roles were highly defined by my parents and teachers as well as all other societal influences. Boys were taught to do boy things and girls were taught to do girly things. The toys that children play with and the activities that are encouraged by adults demonstrate the influence of gender roles on todays youth. In my formative years, the masculine traits that I learned came out because of the activities that my parents had me engage in and the things that they expected from me. The expectations that my parents held for my sister, on the other hand, varied from those that they had for me, and this was made plain through the different activities that occupied her time. My parents treated us in completely different regard. We had different toys, different friends, and we were supposed to like different things. When I got evil my parents would say things like shake it off, or that didnt hurt that much, but when my sister would cry, they wou ld give her attention and pull her aside to take care of her.
